The newly opened Agusta Eco Resort is located on Agusta Island in the heart of Raja Ampat. The resort lies in an untouched wilderness surrounded by turquoise seas and emerald green islands. Agusta Island is a deserted island and the resort is the only structure on the island, which guarantees you a vacation of complete relaxation, away from city noise and crowds.

Agusta Eco Resort currently consists of 10 cottages: 5 Deluxe cottages and 5 Superior cottages. The Deluxe cottages are 60 sqm in size and octagonal in shape. The Superior cottages are 46 sqm and rectangular. 8 cottages are double/twin share for max. 2 guests, with either a double bed or two single beds. 2 cottages come with two rooms (1 double and 1 twin) and are perfect for families.

All cottages are constructed of high-quality timbers and with large windows, glass door and private bathroom. The interiors are comfortable and spacious. Furnishings such as the arm chairs, tables and sofas are handcrafted and originate from Bali. The rooms artifacts and sculptures are made locally in Papua.

All cottages have air conditioning, ceiling fan, minibar, safe deposit box and a big desk with socket and led light for photographers. The bathrooms are spacious and separated in two parts, one with big mirror, sinks in lava rock and toilet, while the other part has a shower and a big open space with coral slab floor. The showers have hot and cold water.

The resort also has 5 cottages typically Papuan style. These cottages, about 22 sqm in size, are made of wood and leaves with a private bathroom including shower (no hot water) and terrace facing the sea. These cottages have a ceiling fan only and are very basic.

Agusta Eco Resort sets great value upon the gastronomy. There are two chefs who prepare tastefully traditional Indonesian dishes and are able to cook different Italian and international specialties. The cuisine is rich in variety and of high quality. The restaurant is located in a huge open air building, which also houses a spacious lounge with arm chairs and sofas.

Solar panels, installed on the kitchen roof, provide electricity for the whole resort. They practice waste separation, reuse the organic waste and bring back to Sorong the recycled glass and plastic. They also have a hen house for eggs and chicken on site and a vegetable garden.

The dive shop houses also reception and a small shop where guests can purchase local handicraft and souvenirs. A bow and arrow, small kite and two 2-seater kayaks are available for complimentary guest use.

The resort has recently added a swimming pool and is now the only resort in Raja Ampat with a pool.

At the moment, the resort is still under development. They are looking to construct a further five Superior cottages, a spa and a gym (equipped with different devices such as treadmill, spinning bike, abdominal muscle bench, weights etc.). The above mentioned structures are located in an area where customers do not need to pass by, so it does not give the impression of an uncompleted resort and it will not disturb guests during their stay.

Agusta Island is about 80km (50mi) from Sorong and can be reached by a 2.5 hour boat transfer on Saturdays. Scheduled transfers (Saturday to Saturday) are complimentary. Any non-scheduled boat transfers are at additional cost. The transfer boat departs Sorong no later than 11am on Saturdays. The boat departs from the resort back to Sorong on Saturdays at 6am.

There is a free guest computer available at the resort to connect to the internet. WiFi is not available. Satellite connections are slow and patchy.

This is truly a special place and can only be described as paradise. The bungalows are spacious and comfortable. The pristine beaches and the diving are excellent.
