Siladen Dive Centre
Located on the resort premises, Siladen Dive Center offers the latest Scubapro equipment and a full range of PADI diving courses from discovery to dive master. Guests will enjoy a professional and friendly service.
Dive Service
The dive centre is equipped with 2 Bauer compressors and operates 4 boats for both divers and snorkelers. 3 boats are traditional style wooden boats which are spacious and have all the necessary amenities like marine toilets, covered seating, dry storage, first aid and emergency oxygen. The newest addition to the fleet is 'Siladen 12', a fiberglass boat designed specifically with diving in mind. The boats carry up to 12 divers each. There are 10L, 12L and 15L aluminium tanks with INT and DIN valves available (DIN adaptors are also available).
The dive service is outstanding. The dives are guided by Indonesian guides who are excellent in finding macro rarities on the reefs. The guide to guest ratio is 1:4.
Dive Sites
Siladen Resort has a rich house reef which turns snorkeling and night diving into a unique experience. Over 50 unique dive sites are within 5 to 50 minutes from the resort. Diving is carried out following strict safety regulations and in small groups.
Dive Schedule
Diving at Siladen is organized to offer you the maximum comfort. At 8am every morning divers meet at the Diving Center for the morning briefing session. Boats leave at 8.30am to allow guests to take two morning dives and return to the resort for lunch at around 1pm. Afternoon diving is available at 3pm and night diving is available every evening at 6pm. The maximum number of dives per day is 4, including the night dive.
Dive area
Bunaken National Park consists of seven islands and is located in the Bay of Manado. The diving area is famous for its beautiful overgrown steep coral walls and the great richness of species living here. The drop-offs start in the shallows of 1-2 meters (3-6 ft) and then fall into the Abyss. Especially beautiful is the shallow waters where one can finish the safety stop in an array of colorful fish. That makes those reefs also an ideal area for snorkelers. Bunaken has apart from the green turtles, plenty of the less often seen leatherback and loggerhead turtles in big sizes! There is also a beautiful wreck situated in the Bay of Manado, here divers often are accompanied by dolphins or pilot whales.
Lembeh Strait: Here is the world's arguably best dive area for 'muck diving'. This is a paradise for divers who are looking for the smallest and rarest fish and critters. You very likely are going to see the Ambon scorpion fish, ghost pipefish, seahorses, crabs and angler fish in all colors, just to name a few. These sites, including the two wrecks, are a highlight for underwater photographers and lovers of muckdiving. Don’t expect beautiful coral reefs in good visibility, you will dive in sandy spots with not so good visibility, as that is where the critters live. There are partial rather cool currents in the Lembeh Straight, the water temperature can get as low as 22°C (71°F), a warmer 5mm wetsuit is recommended.
